Victoria Falls for nature lovers and adrenaline junkies

People reaching a certain age want to experience new things: witnessing the grandeur of nature, challenging themselves to do the unimaginable and opening up themselves up to new cultures.

Victoria Falls: the wonder of nature

With a width of 1688 and a height of 108 meters in an almost flat landscape it undoubtedly is one of the true wonders of nature. During the peak season February to May up to 3 570 m³ per second are crashing down, causing a mist and spray that can be seen from more than 10 km distance. It is for a reason that the original name Mosi oa Tunya means 'the smoke that thunders.' You're likely to get soaking wet when getting close to its edge, or while crossing the Knife-edge Bridge.

But it's not only during the peak season that the falls offer spectacular views. In the shoulder season, with still lots of water pooring down, you can get a glimpse of the bottom of the gorge, with great photo opportunities. You can visit the falls during the regular opening hours, or during special Full Moon tour. Helicopter and Microlight flights offer you a spectacular aerial view.

Victoria Falls: the thrills

There are many activities for the adrenaline junkies around the falls. Next to the white water rafting, you can test you nerves bungee jumping of the Victoria Falls bridge, or if you would like to take it slightly more relaxed, then try the ZipLine or the Gorge Swing. If you'd like to live on the edge, you can do so: jump into the Devil's Pool, right on the edge of the Victoria Falls. Did you know that you can swim under the falls, too? Depending on water levels you can actually have the biggest shower in your life starting at the Boiling Pot, the lowest viewing point at the Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls: the Zen mode

You'll get into quite another mood when taking the relaxed river float on the Upper Zambezi or join the tiger fishing tours that Maano Adventures can arrange for you. The popular Sunset Cruise will take you along the river in the late afternoon while you are enjoying snack and drinks and the warm glow of the sunset.
