Beyond exhilarating rafting adventures, Maano Adventures also offers unforgettable safari experiences in some of Africa’s most iconic national parks. Explore Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park to see the endangered white rhino up close, or take a day trip to Chobe National Park, renowned for its vast elephant herds and rich wildlife. For a more immersive safari, venture into Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, where you have the chance to spot Africa’s legendary Big Five in their natural habitat. Maano offers pick ups for these safaris from Kasane, Botswana, Victoria Falls Town in Zimbabwe and from Livingstone, Zambia.
The Livingstone/Victoria Falls region is part of KAZA (Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area), the second-largest conservation area in the world, about twice the size of the UK. With Maano Adventures you can explore some of the finest national parks in Southern Africa, including Chobe National Park, Hwange National Park and Mosi oa Tunya.
Chobe in the northern part of Botswana is known for its rich variety in wildlife. You are very likely to see huge herds of elephant and Cape buffalo next to lions, leopards, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, antelopes, zebras and hippos. Special in Chobe are the boat safaris, which allow you a close up look of the animals on the grasslands and the shores of the river.
Mosi oa Tunya is bordered by Livingstone and the Zambezi River and is relatively small. Its attraction are the river views and the mix of land animals, water animals and amphibians: buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, wildebeests, zebras and bushbucks next to crocodiles and hippos. You may come across migratory elephants crossing the Zambezi River. Mosi oa Tunya is home to a crash of endangered white rhinos, which can be spotted while going on a walking safari with one of the park rangers.
Hwange National Park (formerly known as Wankie Game Reserve) is the largest National Park in Zimbabwe. All of Zimbabwe's specially protected animals can be found in Hwange Reserve, including the rare gemsbok and brown hyena. It is one of the parks where you have a relatively good chance to see all of Africa's big five. The park boosts itself for having over 400 bird species to be spotted. Hwange can be visited with Maano Adventures in a day tour from Kasana, Livingstone and Victoria Falls Town.
